Parramatta Mission Christmas Appeal

THE HILLS COLLEGE CHRISTMAS

FOOD & GIFT DRIVE

 

 

 

 

Christmas is fast approaching and we ask that staff and students help make this Christmas special for those less fortunate than ourselves.

 

This year we ask for donations of food items or Gift items to make up Food & Gift Hampers for Parramatta Mission.

 

1. DONATE FOOD ITEMS

Tinned ham

Coffee

Chips

Cornflakes

Tea bags

Orange juice

Packets of lollies

Jam

Soft drink

Sweet biscuits

Tinned corn

 

Longlife milk

Maple Syrup

Tinned beetroot

 

Longlife custard

Pancake shake mix

Tinned pineapple

 

 

PLEASE MAKE SURE TINS CAN BE OPENED WITH A RING PULL and USED-BY DATES EXTEND BEYOND DECEMBER 2014

 

2. DONATE A GIFT

Some ideas for gifts may be toys for younger children (no battery operated toys), vouchers for stores and supermarkets, linen (sheets and towels), toiletry packs, back packs, sunglasses, watches, books, clocks, caps, clothes...... NO SECOND HAND GIFTS PLEASE

 

We will provide baskets in each teaching section for you to place your donated items in.

 

These baskets will be collected on Monday 1 December and will then be taken to Parramatta Mission for distribution.

 

We thank you for promoting this to your students and for your support.

Bookkeeper/Office Assistant- The Western Suburbs Haven Inc.

42 hours per fortnight (over 3 days per week)

The Western Suburbs Haven is a community based organisation which operates from Blacktown in Western Sydney where we provide respite care and social support for people living with HIV/AIDS.

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to provide financial support to our service on a permanent, part time basis. As our core business is providing support to people with HIV, applicants must be non judgemental and will be bound by strict confidentiality.

The selection criteria for this position is as follows:

Essential Criteria:

*Experience working in a bookkeeping role

*Proficient with using MYOB and MS Office applications

*Experience in

- Accounts receivable and payable

- Preparing and processing payroll

- Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations

- Calculation and lodgment of quarterly BAS, monthly superannuation & 

  monthly payroll tax and PAYG

* Strong organisational and time management skills

* High level of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

*Current drivers licence

 

Desirable Criteria

*knowledge of relevant Acts & legislation impacting on charities & non-government, 

  not for profit organisations

*some knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the impact on those infected and affected

*previous experience working with volunteers and/or community organisations

Rate of pay will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS) (Level 2.)

§  Give example of projects, tasks, work experience and how you were involved to support your description of how you meet the criteria.

§  Include transferable skills and knowledge – sometimes your experience isn’t directly linked to the criterion, but you have gained skills and knowledge in one context that could be applied in others.

§  Try to be as clear as possible on how you meet the criteria.

§  If you don’t feel that you meet all the criteria, respond as well as you can.

Do you need a smartboard for recording your presentation?

Some student groups are seeking room bookings for smart-boards so they can record presentations. Please note that a teacher is require so that you can login to the technology in the room.

 

We have teachers available on Tuesday 21st between 3-5pm and Wednesday 22nd between 1-5pm.

 

If you would like to book in please reply immediately. You can have 30 minutes maximum in the room and so you need to do your rehearsals yourselves first.
